HELP THE BEGGARS

I refer to The Star 6th April 2010 about Begging runs in the family. It is really true that Klang is full of beggars from all ages. I can say that Klang is the “Town of Beggars”. They are everywhere, along the street, outside the mall, in the restaurants and other strategic places.

I was studying in Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah which is near to the Klang town from 2007 till 2008. We were allowed to go outing twice a month. So, there is no other place to go except Klang town. We always go to Mydin and Centrepoint.

The government should pay attention to these people. I suggest that these people should be investigated about their personal background, where they live, where are their family, their health and etc. Then, all of them should be sent to the suitable places. Drug addicts to the pusat serenti, senior citizens to the old folks home, orphans to the orphanage and etc. Besides that, ask them what are the actual problems that they face and sustain their needs. Some of them maybe are left by their children or husband, or maybe they need money for medical purposes or maybe others.

As we know, Malaysia is one of the popular tourist spots. What will they say if they see the situation like in Klang.

So, in my opinion, this issue must be settled as soon as possible. This is very important as it still cannot be settled since years.
